General Conditions

1. Governing Law: This policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with singapore Law.

2. Interpretation: This Policy and Certificate of Insurance shall be read together and any word or expression to which a specific meaning has been attached in any part of this Policy or of the Certificate of Insurance shall bear such meaning wherever it may appear.

3. Observance: The due observance and fulfilment of all the terms and conditions of this Policy by you or anyone acting on his behalf insofar as they relate to anything to be done or complied with by you or anyone acting on your behalf shall be a condition precedent to any liability of the Insurer to make any payment under this Policy.

4. Reasonable Care: You shall act in prudent manner and exercise reasonable care for the safety and supervision of your property as if uninsured and to prevent loss,damage,accident,injury or illness.

5. Fraud: If you make a dishonest,fraudulent or intentionally exaggerated claim or make a false declaration or statement to support your claim, we may cancel the Policy or refuse to pay you.

6. Payment of Benefits: All benefits payable under this Policy shall be paid to you concerned,and,in the event of your death, to your estate. Such payment shall be a full and final discharge to us. Benefits payable under this Policy are in Singapore Dollars.

7. Claims:
(a) If anything happens that might lead you to make a claim, you must:-

(i) notify us or our appointed loss adjuster, Crawford & Company International Pte Ltd, in writing as soon as possible or within 31 days of the expiry of the Period of Insurance stetd in the Certificate of Insurance.

(ii) provide documents including receipts, information and evidence as may be required (including where necessary translation) by us at your or your legal representatives expense

(iii) in the case of loss or damage to baggage or loss of money, promptly notify us in writing to the police , hotel, transportation company or transportation terminal authorities within 24 hpurs and obtained a report at the place of loss

(b) Except with our written consent, you must not admit liability or give representations or otherundertakings bindingupon them. We shall be entitled to conduct all proceedings arising out of or in connection with claims in your name and to instruct of our own choice for this purpose.

(c) If you make a claim, we may:-

(i) require you to submit to a medical examination at your expense in support of all claims relating to bodily injury or illness

(ii) arrange for a post-mortem examination at our expense

(iii) take over and conduct in your name the defence or settlementof any claim

(iv) at our expenses take proceedings in your name to recover compensation from any person responsible for the loss,damage,death or injury and at our discretion, settle the proceedings

8. Contribution: If there is any other insurance covering the same loss, damage or liability we will pay the rateable proportion. This however, will not be applicable to section 1- Personal Accident.

9. Subrogation: You shall at our expense do and concur in doing, and permit to be done all such acts and things as may ne necessary or reasonably required by us for the purpose of enforcing any rights and remedies or of obtaining relief or indemnify from other parties to which we shall be or would become entitled or subrogated, upon its paying for or making good any loss or damage under the Policy, whether such acts and things shall be or become necessary or required before or after your indemnification by us.

10. Cancellation and Premium Refund:

For Single Trip Policy - We will not refund your premium once the Certificate of insurance is issued.For Annual Plan - Both parties may cancel this Policy at any time by giving 30 days' written notice by registered letter to the known address of the other party and you shall be entitled to a refund premium subject to our short period rates below:

Exceeding 6 months No refund


11. Arbitration: All disputes or differences relating to the amount to be paid under this Policy (liability being otherwise admitted) shall be reffered to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Act or any statutory re-enactment thereof and the making of an award shall be a condition precedent to our liability.

12. Premium Warranty Clause (Applicable to Annual Policy)
a) We assume no liability under this Policy until and unless full Premium is paid to and received by us, the registered broker or registered agent through whom this Policy was affected:-
i) For a Policy, Renewal certificate or Cover Note
Within sixty (60) days from the commencement date of period of insurance
ii) For an Endorsement
Within sixty (60) days from the date of issue or the period of insurance stated in the endorsement, whichever date is later.

b) If the full premium is not received by due date, the insurance cover is automatically cancelled from the next day without notice. In such a case, the insurance cover is valid only from the period before cancellation date. Premium is chargeable for this period subject to a minimum of S$100.
